Self Advice
created: Jul 2, 2024 · updated: Dec 12, 2024 · self-helpSmall bits of advice to get through tough days — they come mostly from people I look up to and my personal experiences.
- Be kind.
- Be present. Don’t dwell in the past. Don’t jump to the future.
- Think about whether you did better than yesterday.
- Fall, get back up and don’t take yourself too seriously.
- Eat well, exercise well, sleep well.
- Don’t harbour any ill feelings or resentment towards anyone.
- Don’t burn bridges, but don’t hold onto them as well.
- Have the courage to give it all, without thinking about the outcomes.
- Read the books you like.
- Learn things you’d always wanted to learn.
- Write to think clearly.
- Always do your best.
- Be wary of inaction.
- Be the right kind of stubborn, know when you’re wrong and quickly adapt.
- Strive to bring joy to yourself and those around you in everything you do.
- Enthusiasm is important.
- Create more than you consume.
- Remember, many of the rules around you are, in fact, arbitrary.
- Do things for their own sake, without any ulterior motives.
- Life is short — relentlessly prune bullshit, don’t wait to do things that matter, savour the time you have.
